I ended up replacing the PVC valves I first bought with brass one which made the pipes not quite line up. I`m considering adding a 2nd filter and some gauges after the prefilter clogged to the point of stopping all water flow after only a couple days in service. But then I think the filter it came with was 10 or 5 micron instead of the standard 20. Still it makes one think there might be enough junk in the water that a 20 followed by a 10 might not be a bad idea to take some strain off the water softener.
